How to deal with conflicting answers in different answers to the same question?
I wanted to ask you whether it's possible to close the question for the following reasons: 
a) Different answers to the same question are left at the same time.
For example, a year ago I asked a question: how can I optimize my code? I said that I don't know too much about compilers, and that I'd appreciate if somebody would take a look at my code and tell me whether it's fast enough, and, if not, how to optimize it. Well, there were different answers which all claimed that the code was perfect. 
b) An answer to a question is different from other answers to the same question.
Here's another example. A year ago I asked this question: "How can I make my life more comfortable?" I put my whole life as a homework, and I said that I would appreciate it if somebody would take a look at my life, and tell me whether there are some things I could change to make it more comfortable. Well, it was also claimed that my life is just perfect, and that I shouldn't change anything. I was surprised, because I thought that everybody in this world needs to improve his life. 
Are these situations not allowed? Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with these kind of situations?

A) Other answers are in a different language, or not what you meant to ask.
It is very easy to ask questions which are confusing and difficult to answer, or are so specific that they really only apply to one person.  As others have mentioned, such questions don't really belong on SO as they are very open-ended and don't really have a definitive answer.  What's the proper etiquette here?
A quick list of the situations that should be closed is:
Questions that are difficult to answer.
Questions asking for advice about specific programs/products (i.e. questions that would get closed as too localized).
