AutoCAD 19.1 Activator For Windows
Autodesk uses the term "drawing" to mean the output of a piece of software that provides visual representations, and also to refer to a construction project. CAD is used for the design of various kinds of artifacts, including drawings (of plans and sections), models (of three-dimensional objects), and animation. Drawings, models, and animations are often used in a production environment, such as an architectural firm. Typically, "autocad drawing" refers to a drawing in the above context.

2D modelers
 DXF, the file format used by AutoCAD, is used for importing and exporting 2D drawings. This is necessary because there are many different 2D modelers. Vectorworks, SketchBook Pro, and CorelDraw use their own import/export format, which is not compatible with DXF. Vectorworks allows exporting to DXF, but does not allow importing from DXF.
 Some software that uses non-linear mesh models, such as MeshMixer and Rhino, store 3D models in DAE (.DAE) files, which are binary file formats. AutoCAD converts DAE files to DXF. A newer format for storing 3D data is STEP, which is a collection of binary data in ASCII text files. AutoCAD can import a STEP file into AutoCAD and export a STEP file from AutoCAD.
 3D modelers
 The native 3D modeling tool in AutoCAD is 3DS Max. 3DS Max is optimized for creating complex, photorealistic, and interactive 3D models. AutoCAD imports and exports 3DS Max and XSI (.XSI) files to use with other 3D modeling tools, such as Maya, 3ds Max and SolidWorks. AutoCAD also supports importing and exporting.XSI files to other 3D modelers, such as Rhino, TrueSpace, and Google SketchUp.
 For the purpose of allowing 3D printing and advanced 3D printing, several 3D modelers, such as SolidWorks, SketchUp, and Rhino, can export a 3D model to the STEP format. Such a STEP file can then be opened in AutoCAD. This format is required for some 3D printers to operate. AutoCAD can then export the model to a format that a particular 3D printer can handle.
