CasterStats is real-time and historical audience analysis software for streaming radio and tv stations, which is included with the CasterStats desktop product.
The radio or tv station developer can use the CasterStats software to display charts and graphs that report on the radio station’s audience during the hours of operation, and to make comparisons between different periods of a broadcast.
The CasterStats media server application can receive requests to display and collect audience data from its clients over the internet and allow broadcasters to monitor and analyze audience statistics. It is included with the CasterStats desktop product.
A hosting environment is also provided for CasterStats that provides the basic software and files required to configure, run, and monitor CasterStats as a hosted service.

CasterStats Workflow:
CasterStats uses a publish/subscribe workflow. A broadcaster or station developer will use CasterStats to publish a query feed to the CasterStats platform, which listens for subscription requests.
When the CasterStats platform receives a subscription request, it generates a program for that broadcast and makes an initial attempt to retrieve the specified audience information. For example, the CasterStats platform will generate a program that requests audience data for a given station or group of stations. If this request succeeds, the CasterStats platform will send an XML data document, containing the requested audience data, back to the requesting station. The programming that the CasterStats platform has generated for that broadcast will not be sent until it receives an acknowledgement that the previously requested data has been returned.
CasterStats Implementation:
The CasterStats platform uses OpenMediaStream to send and receive real-time and historical audience data over an internet connection. The CasterStats platform is available in two flavors: The CasterStats Desktop product for desktop applications and the CasterStats Hosting environment, which can be used to host a CasterStats installation on a web server, or in a web application.

CasterStats Hosting environment is a server-based software that is included with the CasterStats desktop product. It provides the basic software and files required to set up a CasterStats installation on a web server.
