Athletes and academics create coalition to improve representation in sport

Thanks to Erasmus+ funding, a group of athlete representatives and academics have joined forces to develop new structures of athlete representation, in a project named "Strengthening Athlete Power in Sport".

The main objective is to "strengthen athletes' influence and representation in sport through increasing democratisation of sports governance and management."

As well as Swansea University in Wales, the other academic institutions involved are Utrecht University in the Netherlands, University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and Spain's Pompeu Fabra University.
