Guitar Note Practice makes good use of modern OS X technology. The sound is rich and realistic.
Unique Background Music
Guitar Note Practice includes a number of pieces of soft background music with each piece focusing on a particular musical theme.
Each piece of music is linked to a piece of guitar sheet music so that you can play along as you practice.
Gracefully Deactivate
The application is designed to be a light-weight application that can be gracefully deactivated at any time.
The application will not be in the foreground and will not consume CPU time when the user
turns the computer off.
In-App Purchase
The application has a single feature that can be activated using an in-app purchase.
This feature automatically launches the application at any time the user turns the computer
on and provides an easy way to practice without worrying about having to find the
application.
New in Version 2
Support for Volume Limit
Previous versions of Guitar Note Practice could not automatically deactivate the
application when the volume of the computer was turned down. In version 2 of the
application this has been remedied and the application will now automatically deactivate
when the volume is turned down.
Version 2 also adds a volume limit. When a user purchases the in-app purchase, the
volume limit can be set to a value up to 99.99
which is suitable for many users.
GUI
The application is easily configured and does not require any configuration files to use.
The application does not use a graphical user interface. Only a single row of text is
visible and everything is completely command-driven.
Interface
The application takes advantage of modern OS X technology. The application uses the
"osascript" program to access the system configuration file to control the application.
Therefore, you should be able to see the "osascript" program in the application toolbar.
This is a very light-weight program.
The application has a number of options that can be configured from the command line:
-collectionURL- This is a URL that points to the Guitar Note collection. You need to use this
URL as the collectionURL argument when installing the application.
