Global scope in Rust
This may seem like a simple question but I'm still relatively new to Rust.
In C/C++ I could create global variables in a namespace, for example by using:
namespace some_namespace {
    int i = 0;
    int i2 = 0;
}
I think this kind of global scope is called a "global scope".
I tried it in Rust but it doesn't seem to be possible, even in the global scope. When compiling this code, I get error: Cannot resolve `i` as a variable.

    int i = 0;
}
namespace other_namespace {
    int i2 = 0;
}
fn main() {
    i; // Error: Cannot resolve `i` as a variable.

I do however see why it would be useful: I could use global variables like this for example in a loop:

    i++;
}
