Introduction 
This research started out as an anecdotal hunch, as a painter myself, I find myself always feeling better after creating something or looking at art. I hypothesize and attempt to prove in this body of research that the implementation and fostering of street art can be essential to creating healthier cities, citizens, and communities. Healthier in the sense that participating or being around street art will promote prosocial behavior and development, increase sociability and interaction, and increase one’s contentment with their environment. It’s human nature to crave, love, and gravitate towards color and creation it seems as if street art and graffiti is way that unnatural landscapes are reclaimed by their inhabitants. Street art and graffiti can be very controversial topics considering it one of the only openly regulated and criminalized art forms to exist, with laws and policy of this art varying not only internationally but also from city to city. Graffiti is also emerges mostly in lower income communities causing racial and classist connotations to be tied to the geographic areas it emerges in, but criminalizing the practice of it may hinder the positive therapeutic effects it may have for its participants. It is also an art form that exclusively needs an urbanized environment and is made from an urban environment making it a phenomenon. As humans migrate and start to centralize in urban environments there must be measures that take into consideration how unnatural it is for the body and mind to adjust to a space of noise pollution, air pollution, and decreased natural greenspace considering humans have adapted and lived emerged with nature for much longer of their natural history than in cities. Is the human need to create essential to happiness, or does the birth of creation happen due to distress from urban environments? Lastly, my research brings up the question does the absence of art from a city it less humane?
