Echo is a single-player, 2D, adventure, puzzle game, with simple controls and mechanics that present a very challenging game.
The gameplay is divided into 4 main stages.
The design focuses on the player to become immersed in a mysterious world.
The story is revealed in a narrative way, through conversations with the environment, texts or acoustic elements.
The game audio, with sound effects, is played while walking through the level.
It is comprised of beautiful 80's soundtrack with melodies that accompany the player along his experience.
The game music, created by the composer Alfredo Galavis, also plays while you're resting or when you're restarting a level.
Features (in brief):
Endless level and gameplay with different paths and set pieces, similar to levels from Agar.io.
Obstacles in the form of obstacles, such as rocks, doors, holes, and so on.
Easy controls (one key for each direction, and space to jump).
The player must understand that if he/she hits a branch or a wall, he/she will stop and die.
A variety of puzzles with several possibilities.
A heavy use of sound effects, especially echoes of footsteps to guide the player, and other aural effects.
The player can rest and pay attention to clues around the place.

As a developer, that game was one of the hardest experiences I've ever had.
It was a game I thought I'd done some 5 years ago
It was so hard I just couldn't finish it at first.
We had to rewrite it twice (most of the source code) because it was a very convoluted codebase and we couldn't get it to compile correctly and the final build was a chore to execute.
I had to rewrite the entire codebase from scratch, because the original codebase was never going to scale well and it would never have worked without ~60% of the original work.
In the end, I had to rewrite the whole game from scratch because the original codebase was a hassle to work with and the original code was too
