What Is A Limbic System Trauma Loop

The limbic system is like your body's safety system; it holds the brain's most rudimentary regions, which have developed to assist us in our survival as a species. The hypothalamus, amygdala, hippocampus, and cingulate gyrus are all parts of the limbic system located at the back of the brain. It is normal for our brains to initiate a stress reaction in order to protect us from further harm (whether it be physical, mental, or sensory trauma).
