AutoCAD
The program has its roots in the design of the Space Shuttle. Space Shuttle systems engineer Alan J. Crockett was convinced that CAD would greatly simplify the workflow of designing the craft, which featured multiple teams of engineers working simultaneously on separate segments of the design. Crockett managed a team of engineers that developed the first version of AutoCAD Serial Key in 1982. Before the Space Shuttle was launched, Crockett managed a team of engineers that developed the first version of AutoCAD.
As of 2012, AutoCAD has been discontinued as a stand-alone app but is still available as a mobile app and as part of the cloud-based Autodesk suite of software applications.
History
AutoCAD was originally developed by engineers from the Lockheed Space Operations Company as part of the system design process for the Space Shuttle.[1] The software was released in December 1982 for PCs with a built-in graphics controller. Prior to that, most CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal. AutoCAD was the first CAD program released that was designed for the PC and allowed non-CAD operators to participate in the design process. Before AutoCAD was released, most CAD programs required CAD operators to be highly skilled in the design process. AutoCAD was adopted as the standard tool for designing the Space Shuttle.
In the early 1980s, Alan J. Crockett was also responsible for developing the first batch of data structures used in AutoCAD (which were later released as design standards). Crockett stated, "It all started with the Space Shuttle. We felt that we were doing too much hand-drawing. We were all drawing on the same sheet, one at a time. It was very inefficient."
The program was developed by the Autodesk organization, which was located in Santa Cruz, California. It was originally called GraphiCAD and was designed by Peter Howe. Howe is the co-founder of TEC Computers, and was involved in developing the first versions of CAD as part of the Autodesk design process. TEC Computers sold the AutoCAD source code to Autodesk in 1984

DWG, DWGx (LX) DWGx, and DGN, DGNx (LX) DGNx (LX), are AutoCAD interchange formats. DWG is not supported in AutoCAD LT, but DGN is. Autodesk 2D and 3D modeling software supports these formats, as do external CAD programs.
AutoCAD's application framework supports communication between applications using COM (Component Object Model), Win32, OLE (Object Linking and Embedding), and C++ object wrappers. The AutoCAD 2015 installation includes the C++ components for creating and manipulating COM objects.
 Autodesk Revit Architecture uses the.NET Framework for software architecture and component development, Autodesk Revit Architecture (formerly known as Autodesk Inventor) is one of Autodesk’s Inventor-based products. Like AutoCAD, Revit Architecture supports 2D and 3D CAD. This product is integrated with Autodesk Civil 3D, Land Desktop, Map3D, Intergraph and Microstation.
 Autodesk MotionBuilder (Motive) is a software product that allows users to build Autodesk MotionBuilder models in Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Flame. Autodesk MotionBuilder also allows users to share their models between these software programs. In addition, Autodesk MotionBuilder also supports import and export between Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya and Flame.
 Autodesk Dynamo is a vector graphics-based animation software used for creating 3D animations with Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya. Autodesk Dynamo is available as both a plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya and standalone. Autodesk Dynamo also has a native.NET component for use with C# and Visual Studio.
 Autodesk 3ds Max allows users to import and export native file formats of various 3D applications including Wavefront.obj,.ply,.stl,.mesh,.ufo,.jpg,.jpg2 and.png.
