The “Golden age” was during the classical age which is where Greek philosophy in architecture focused on Humanism. The greek used bronze and stone on sculptures but preferred to use bronze because they lasted longer. (This is scene in the goliath stature)
During the classical Hellenistic age sculptures were more dramatic and depicted scenes instead of relaxed/naturalistic human poses.
Greeks actually didn’t develop anything new to architecture, they used post and lintel which was used by Egyptians and Mesopotamia. There were multiple types of greek temples:Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. There were also low reliefs and high reliefs which were sculpting a inside the architecture. The parthenon is the most famous temple in Athens, Greece designed by Iktinos and Kallikrates. The parthenon is a Doric style temple. Building like the U.S supreme court are greek influxes architecture because of the corinthian style architecture. The greeks also celebrates sports and athleticism. Athlete competed in nude and often piled up their bodies. Humanism is displayed in this because it shows off the potential of the body and what humans were capable of, they were admirable. They competed in: Foot-racing, wrestling, chariot racing, javelin throwing, long jump and more. The most famous games were at the site of the Olympia every Four years. This is seen in modern day society because now there are olympic games that happened worldwide every four years where we compete in the same if not similar games to Ancient Greece.
