Commissioners tour new offices, and Macon Mall amphitheater under construction
The Macon-Bibb County Commission used their Tuesday Committee of the Whole meeting to take a field trip to see new offices at 688 Walnut St. and get and update on the progress in building a 12,000-person capacity amphitheater and new offices under construction at Macon Mall. Before leaving City Hall, commissioners accepted an $85,000 grant for summer recreation programs, approved an alcohol license and forged an agreement and contracts for storm debris monitoring and removal to allow Macon-Bibb to be eligible for reimbursement from FEMA through the Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency. All items are up for final approval at next week's meeting. Here are highlights of the meeting at City Hall and the subsequent tour captured through tweets posted during the handling of agenda items and the site visits.
