The police report above outlines the 2013 incident involving Miriam Carey. The report details how Carey rammed officers and vehicles, drove against traffic, drove on the sidewalk with little regard for officer safety, and injured two officers by striking them with her car. In total, police struck Carey 5 times, wounding her fatally. It was discovered after Carey had been killed that she had her infant daughter in the back seat throughout the duration of this chase. The court system ruled that these officers were not guilty of murders, as this was a necessary use of force, ruling that Carey posed an immediate threat to the safety of both the public and other officers. 
This police report contrasts the ideas posed in the article "Living in an Age of Colorblind Racism and Police Impunity: An Analysis of Some High-Profile Police Killings" that described the incident as "A U-Turn resulting in a short chase" while omitting the details of the endangerment of public and officer safety. This does not mean that the article is in vain however. It shows that there are many sides to every story, many points of view. There are examples of police brutality, there are far too many, but not every instance is an example. 
There are still multiple sides to every story. Not every situation has a black and white answer either. The officer is often not totally in the right, and the assailant is not totally in the wrong.
The question now is, how do cases like this, as well as other cases of officer-involved shootings gain public traction?
