1. Remove the digital signature checks from the UxTheme.dll.
2. Attempt to fix the Windows Vista SP1 DLL file path for the package.
3. After installation, copy the.NET Framework 1.1 folder into the [PROFILES] folder.
4. Re-compile the UxTheme.dll file for your current Windows version.
5. Patch the patch.

Using the latest version of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 was mandatory, but Service Pack 1 has several noteworthy improvements. Service Pack 1 introduces a new Task Manager and a cleaner Windows Explorer.

This patch adds the UxTheme DLL file to the GDR location, the registry tree. Once the UxTheme DLL file is added, UxTheme can be used to modify the way the theme manager (implemented in Uxtheme.dll) draws the non-client parts of every window displayed within Microsoft Windows according to the styles defined in your active theme.
With UxTheme, the end user is able to disable the theme manager and still have it properly draw the non-client parts of all active windows. This patch also has been tested with Microsoft Windows Vista and has been successfully used within the popular OEM theme Microsoft Windows Codename: Office 2007.
Windows Server 2008 SP1 now provides UxTheme as a free and easy way to modify the way the theme manager (implemented in Uxtheme.dll) draws the non-client parts of all active windows within your operating system, as long as UxTheme has been successfully signed and added to the GDR within the registry tree.
