The program was initially designed for use by architects, surveyors, civil engineers, structural and mechanical designers, and 2D drafters, with 3D drawing functionality being added later on. The program was originally created by Michael Palmer, a designer, artist, and computer consultant. Palmer was joined by Alex Reinert, who produced the first version of the software, and designed the first screen layout. The first official release was announced on May 3, 1985.

New Zealand rabbits were immunized with purified recombinant proteins corresponding to the core region (aa 21-120), nonstructural region 1 (aa 182-388), and NS3 (aa 201-500). All three antigens induced HCV-specific CTL. The core protein was a good inducer of CTL, and these cells were cytolytic for HCV-infected target cells. The NS3 protein was a good inducer of CTL, and these cells were also cytolytic for HCV-infected target cells.
