We previously posted about a Mario Maker 2 trailer that was found by a YouTuber who has an amazing memory. The game is expected to come out in 2020 but it isn't known if it will be a port of the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo Switch version.

A few new details for the upcoming game were mentioned in the trailer.
The producer said that the Wii U version of the game has never been fully finished due to the technical limitations of the platform.
The new version of the game will be released on different platforms, starting with the Wii U, and continuing onto 3DS and Switch.
The game is being developed by Nintendo EAD2, who worked on Mario Maker. The next Mario game was announced in 2015 and is believed to be Mario Odyssey.
The new trailer shows the different new design elements of the game.
You can make any level you like and the game will allow you to make variations of a theme as well. You can make a Super Mario Bros level or something similar and make it your own. The graphics appear to be very clean and bright.
It is not completely clear if the game will be available on all these platforms. While Nintendo Switch and Wii U are logical choices, we haven't seen Nintendo 3DS as a platform.
If everything goes as expected, a Nintendo Switch version of Mario Maker 2 will be released in 2020 with more levels and new features. The game will also be available on the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and Playstation 4.
2019 is going to be one hell of a year as far as Mario games are concerned. The news just keeps getting bigger and bigger. We have Final Fantasy VII Remake, a Mario Brothers game, a new Metroid game and a Pikmin 3 movie.
I would like to see a new Mario Bros game sometime next year. It seems that Nintendo is moving away from 2D platformers and looking to 3D games. That's for a later post.
In the meantime, let's look at these other great Mario games released this year.
Mario Maker 2 (Switch)
This is a Mario Maker sequel, coming out in 2020.
It will have the same 1000+ levels as the Wii U version, with more custom levels to be made.
