Macon-Bibb Commission 12/16/24

Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller and nine county commissioners took the oath of office Monday at the Macon City Auditorium just a few hours before the final commission meeting of 2024 and the last for Mallory Jones and Virgil Watkins. Commissioners called for the Board of Elections to hold a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, adjusted their budget to account for the year's final revenue figures and expenditures, approved a grant for emergency shelter at the Salvation Army, accepted more than $165K in criminal justice grants, approved grants for EMA and the sheriff's office, approved 11 of 14 alcohol license requests and reappointed members of the Macon Transit Authority, Central Georgia Joint Development Authority, pension boards and Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful.
