Mental health initiative launched to combat youth violence

A new mental health counseling initiative aimed at troubled youth received initial approval at the Feb. 23 Macon-Bibb County Commission Committee of the Whole. Commissioners voted to strengthen security at alcohol businesses and discussed alcohol licensing, jail conditions, trash collection changes, expanding public relations and COVID-19. Final vote on all measures will be March 2 at the regular commission meeting.
