Adobe Photoshop EXpress [Mac/Win] (April-2022)
In this article, we will show you how you can edit or enhance your images using Photoshop Elements as well as add a myriad of effects.
Note that this article will focus on editing in Photoshop Elements, not using Photoshop, because many aspects of Photoshop Elements are similar to the features in Photoshop and are quite easy to learn.
Before we jump into the tutorial, here is a list of image editing tutorials for Photoshop.
You can practice new edits and new Photoshop features in various tutorials of all types, from a basic creation of a vectorized image to advanced creative effects to become a photographer or graphic designer.
How to edit an image in Photoshop Elements
Step 1
Install Photoshop Elements 15 in your operating system.
First, install Photoshop Elements. Close all other programs that are running and open Photoshop Elements. Follow the onscreen instructions to install. Once installed, open Photoshop Elements.
Step 2
Open any image in Photoshop Elements.
Select File > Open. Browse for the desired image.
Step 3
Select the desired option in the File menu.
For this tutorial, select Edit > Fill.
Step 4
Select the desired option in the Menu bar.
Select Edit > Fill.
Step 5
Select the Paint bucket tool and paint a mask on the desired area. Make sure there is no selection color.
The image shown above has a white area that needs to be touched up. The mask was painted on the white area.
Step 6
Under the Menu bar, select Edit > Adjustment layers.
Choose Layer > New adjustment layer > Basic color correction.
The image will open in a new edit layer.
Step 7
Using the Move tool, select the bottom left corner of the new adjustment layer and move it up (Alt + Click, Move up, and Release).
The image will open in a new edit layer.
Step 8
Select the Paint bucket tool.
Paint a mask on the newly created adjustment layer.
Step 9
Using the Eraser tool, erase the mask from the layer.
The image will open in a new edit layer.
Step 10
Duplicate the layer and reduce the opacity of the duplicated layer to 50 percent (Layer > New > Adjustment layer > Blur).
The image will open in a new edit layer.
