DAY 5
THE DAY OF DEPARTURE 
20th of MAY 2022

Today the alarm clocks in many French families, at the homes of some French teachers and in the gîte of the Danish and Spanish teachers were set really early. It was time to say goodbye and start our journey back home and for the French children and teachers to spend a Friday in class, evaluating what happened this week but also trying to get back to the normality of having just their own class around again...
Sleepy children hugged their new friends before they got in the taxi or in their minivan. These children are the heroes of this unforgettable week. Alongside the long school days packed with so many exciting activities concerning  Sustainable Development Goal nr 12 'responsible production and consumption', they continued their learning curve at home, experiencing the warm French family life, eating later than they were used to, speaking English or trying to understand a few French words, communicating with hands and feet when needed.  We think this is a week none of the children who participated or their families and teachers will ever forget. The start of new friendships and the taste of traveling and looking at the world from a new perspective!
We want to thank all pupils, host families and of course the brilliant team of Ecole Pierre Vincent in Alissas for an unforgettable week. We will carry the Ardèche, its beauty, its French cuisine and its friendly and welcoming people in our hearts forever! Merci beaucoup et à bientôt au Danemark!
