HackQuest is a pixel art-styled dark fantasy hack and slash game, with a focus on exploration and puzzle solving.
In this game you will experience a peaceful countryside, a charming little castle, and then finally meet the dark forces that live on the Isle of Mists. More than what you might expect from a dark fantasy game, you will discover a history lesson, a bit of philosophy, and plenty of heart-pounding action!
A new kind of RPG adventure, HackQuest follows a simple premise: explore, hack and slash your way through adventure! Travel through a large open world, hack and slash your way through enemy encounters, explore and find treasure. As you delve further into the world, you will need to pay attention to the strange and wonderful lore of the island, pick up new abilities and find puzzles to solve to open the way forward.
Key Features:
HackQuest is a turn-based tactical RPG. Every battle is turn-based, and the action is controlled by means of a comprehensive attack and defense system. The combat in HackQuest is tactical and procedurally-generated. The choice of combat strategy (block, dodge, counterattack, etc.) and the attack power of your character are determined by a complex combat engine based on difficult decisions, the level of your character’s resistance, and whatever other factors the game determines.
Two classes for melee and ranged attacks, and a wide array of weapons and skills complement the combat system.

A little more cartoonish than the last
The last 4 hours have been pretty smooth, haven't had to restart or anything.
This game is pretty easy and can be played in a couple of hours, i have about 4 hours into it. It is extremely pixelated, but yet colorful, and the play speed is low enough that it isn't annoying.
The music is pretty upbeat, which makes it fitting for the whole game. I really liked this aspect of the game.
Gameplay
Its gameplay is pretty straightforward. You must hit colored blocks of different patterns. Depending on what patterns you do, you'll earn points.
You can earn coins for successfully hitting blocks, and you can use coins to purchase upgrades in your house. The upgrades are:
Invisibility
Refill
Light Source
Hint
You can also increase the number of days you can play per life.
The game ends after you die, and you restart with the same amount of lives you have.
Upgrades and Unlockables
There are a few upgrades you can unlock. As you kill blocks, you will earn coins which can be used to unlock upgrades.
For example, when you first begin the game, you can only earn 2,000 coins per block. After you obtain 3,000 coins for hitting a certain block, you will unlock the Invisibility upgrade, which costs 5,000 coins. This particular upgrade will decrease your oxygen meter and sometimes reduce your oxygen to almost zero.
Your Oxygen meter is represented by your yellow dots. I ran into an area that had a yellow dot at around 60% with the Invisibility.
There are also a couple of mystery capsules you can open to earn many coins.
For example, one of these capsules will sell for 3,000 coins, and a special cupcake will sell for 5,000 coins. Another will sell for a small amount of coins
