A trend within fashion can be quite short-lived but it can also be around for a long time, depending on the practicality and durability of the specific trend. Fashion trends can include a specific item or a full look and can come around when consumers may see a celebrity or such wearing something in particular. Due to the high exposure that these celebrities have, many people see what they are wearing and can easily find out where or how to purchase an item worn by somone they might look up to. This can start trends due to the mass amount of people thinking and doing the same thing.
Examples of recent trends in fashion include baggy lightwash denim jeans, chunky trainers, cycling-like lycra shorts and tie dyed items. Some of these trends have stood the test of time so far, others have been and gone and were quite short-lived.
