How to Use AutoCAD
After it is installed, AutoCAD opens in a new window in the system tray (Windows) or dock (macOS).
AutoCAD is a word processor application. Each time you save an AutoCAD drawing, a new text file is created. This is the text file name extension for AutoCAD and it contains information that describes the AutoCAD drawing. A text file is also created whenever you open an AutoCAD drawing, and it contains information about the AutoCAD drawing and any changes you made to it.

The main taskbar (also known as the main task window) in AutoCAD displays the most recent drawing, most recent drawing layer, most recently added drawing, most recently saved drawing, most recently opened drawing, most recently opened drawing layer, and last drawing that you saved.
You can open a new drawing by selecting Open from the Main Taskbar. You can open a new drawing in a previously opened drawing by selecting Open from the Main Taskbar in the Drawing Manager.
As in AutoCAD 2018, there is no Print command. Print is automatically triggered when you save a drawing (by pressing the S key) or open a drawing in a previously saved drawing.
The Dynamic Input tooltip window displays the current values in the active object. This window will remain active until you close it. You can also use Dynamic Input to obtain other information such as the units of an attribute, the number of points in a polyline, the height of a drawing, or the length of a dimension. In addition, you can use Dynamic Input to scroll through tool tips in the Help window.
You can save the current drawing using the File menu. Alternatively, you can press the S key to save the current drawing to a new drawing (save as)
