It was really hard to resist the urge to go back into 2017 and revisit the most endearing games of the year, and get updated with all the new games that have come out in the meantime. So below are 25 of the best and most successful games that have come out in 2017.

The first little intro-adventure games of the year had a pleasingly cheerful pop-tastic feel. BigBox2 Arcade: Exciting Spaceship Relay falls into the category. In it, you take the role of a little cubicle drone who has to explore a computer system, and find the source of a string of cryptic messages. The cubicle drone you are, however, is a little robot, so the only means of communication is to feel around the system and use sonar. The game is part puzzler, part platformer, part exploration game, and part detective challenge.
What really hooked us about BigBox2: Exciting Spaceship Relay, was the general feel of the game, the idea of sending a little robot on an adventure to find out where the messages were coming from. If only the whole thing had been done in a game that everyone could play as a standalone experience.
Here’s hoping that the developers of BigBox2: Exciting Spaceship Relay will be able to put together a full-length game based on this concept, that comes with the label “endearing”.
An impressive game for an indie developer known for making puzzles for Apple devices, BigBox2: Exciting Spaceship Relay is a great little game, made up of puzzles, exploration, and detective work.
The interesting twist to the whole concept is that the protagonist of the game is a little robot who is sent on a quest to solve a computer hack. There are words scattered all over the place that require careful use of the robot’s sonar, in order to figure out what they mean, and how to solve the puzzle.
BigBox2: Exciting Spaceship Relay’s simple but very cute presentation and design makes for a well-crafted little game, that is easy to pick up and play.
