Roblox, officially Roblox Corporation, is an American multinational software development company headquartered in San Mateo, California. Roblox was the first child-targeted online game platform. Roblox was designed to have more communication and social features, in addition to the more traditional gameplay of massively multiplayer online games. At first, Roblox was only available to invite-only users who had to join through in-game invitations given to friends. After 2006, the original game platform was replaced with a "Roblox Studio" platform, and users could create their own games from scratch.
In 2007, Roblox released the first game in its franchise, "Channelz," which was made available for free download. It was a game similar to virtual worlds in that it had a virtual world based on real life and a "player deck" that they used to interact with their virtual friends. The game also used the "Roblox" platform, which had roughly 200 channels, or virtual rooms. Over time, Roblox began to move towards more adult themes and games that were integrated with the "Roblox" platform.

's Drago Medical division, which is focused on robots that help perform minimally invasive surgeries and has a sales force of about 300 sales representatives and distributors worldwide, will cease to operate by the end of December.
Dedicated to developing a broader market for gynecological and other surgeries, Medstart's Medstart Medical division is also shutting down, according to a company spokesman. The division consists mostly of small engineering contracts that it provides to other companies for process development work, like building robotic arms for surgical procedures.
The company's loss of expertise in non-robotic surgery equipment will not prevent Medstart Medical from continuing with its work on other product areas, the spokesman said.
The company has not yet found a buyer for either business unit and is actively looking for a buyer for one or both, he said.
Sale unlikely
Medstart's entry into surgery was ambitious, said John Scarlino, CEO of Healthsyte, a mobile health app startup that has used the Medstart Medical unit's technology for its own surgery robot. The company has sold Medstart Medical's surgery robots to hundreds of health care providers in the United States, and they cost about $15,000.
