In manual mode, the DJ can use any programmable MIDI clock, and even time the automation in any fashion he pleases. This includes running the automation backward and forward, in effect, being able to "cut-off" the same songs, that may be playing next, or the other way around.
When you load in your playlist, the automation is executed, and the playback begins. All automation includes automatic cross-fading/overlap times, when the desired end time of the automation has been reached, the song is cut off and the automation returns to the beginning, and, if desired, all the songs play together and fade-out together. (You can find these features in the "Settings" window. Use the "Setup" settings menu button for that.) If the automation timeslots are set to "DO NOT AUTOMATE", the automation will run for a maximum time (no matter the clock is), and the automation will stop when the song(s) play to the end.

The user interface can be set to secure mode, that is, you can block the normal user from making any modifications to the configuration, or enter in the general Windows surrounding. The administrator can, in this case, enter with a password in order to make changes to the configuration or the Windows system.
You can manage various settings and database profiles, which you can save to and load from a disk drive or a floppy or other medium. This makes it easy to administrate the lists and settings remotely, with or without a network connection!
