MPG takes MIDI files as input, and saves them as the final product in the same MP3 format. It offers you the possibilities to run, play and tune with your favorite MP3 player or the sound card. This is the interface where you can place the processing modules, edit/create steps, pulses, etc. The main panel is the ‘Playground’. It is a circular panel that can be moved or enlarged. The circle is divided into two zones: the inner zone contains the steps, pulse, and note editors, while the outer zone is for the controller, connections, and parameters.
How to use the program
If you have a MIDI file (ex: MIDI music) from the MP3 player, click File > Open.
Create your steps as it was explained in the tutorial, and then to start editing and working on your MIDI file.
Open the Music Pattern Generator panel on the page (bar on the left).
Click on the ‘New Step’ on the left, or the ‘Step’ on the right.
Modify the incoming MIDI and click ‘OK’. The new step will be saved and ready to use.
Modify the step, if necessary (editing steps and pulses are explained in the tutorial and in the full user guide).
Pulses are used to divide the steps, and to add effects to the notes in order to make new sequences. They can have a precise length, by clicking on the right time line.
Every step has its own width and height; you can adjust them with the step’s editor panel.
