A part can be represented as a collection of one or more faces, edges, and vertices. A face represents a flat face of the object. Edges connect adjacent faces, and can be straight, curved, or textured. The face, edge, or vertex representation is set via the menu or a toolbar item called "View and Modeling Tools" (in the menu bar) -> "Polygonize". To add or remove edges, change the number of faces, or add or remove vertices, simply click in the part window and select the appropriate tool in the "View and Modeling Tools" menu. AutoCAD's software tools are versatile and can be used to remove part features or create features that are specific to the part.
Faces can be joined or separated using the "Face" tool. To make a flat face, select two or more faces and click to create a face on the faces' centerline. To change the number of faces, change the number of faces in the "Face" dialog box or select "Add faces" in the "View and Modeling Tools" menu.
Edges can be made convex, concave, or planar. Edges can also be textured, making them more realistic. The edges can be curved by moving their vertices. Using the "Line" tool, each vertex of the curved edge can be dragged to move the curved edge into a desired position. Edges can be curved, textured, and made as convex or concave as desired. Selecting edges in the drawing window with the "Select edges" tool creates a vertex in the edge.

Parts can be drawn using a wide variety of tools. The "Line" tool is used to draw points, lines, and curves of any kind. Multiple parallel lines can be joined with the "Join lines" tool. To add or remove parallel lines, select the "Join lines" tool and select "Add lines" from the menu.
