AutoCAD 2020 — released in April 2020 — is the first major version of the product released after 2019. Many new features, including new drawing tools, improved workflow and collaboration features, as well as newly added importing and exporting support for 3D printing and stereolithography, were introduced with this version. AutoCAD 2020 is also the last major release before the year of its retirement in October 2021.
The most recent major version of AutoCAD was AutoCAD R14 (released in August 2019), but a few interim releases were also made. The most recent minor release was AutoCAD LT 2019.1 (released in November 2019).
Overview
The 2020 release is the successor to the 2019 major release, although the product is not yet numbered as 20.0. The software was renamed AutoCAD in September 2019, which is part of a shift to a naming scheme that is common in the industry.
The current software release is AutoCAD 2020 R14. It is available on macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems, and can be used both online and offline, via a USB drive. It runs on computers with Intel or AMD processors, supported operating systems are Windows 10, Windows 7, and Windows 8.1, and newer. The USB version is available with two license key variants: a single-user license and a team license. The web version supports running on any operating system, and the online license is available through Autodesk's My Account or Autodesk's subscription service, Autodesk.com.
Compared to previous versions of the product, the new 2020 release includes the following key features:
Drawing tools. AutoCAD is the only desktop CAD product available in the market that supports a workflow mode that allows users to insert blocks directly into a drawing. AutoCAD 2020 includes both 2D and 3D tools to insert blocks into drawings. The 2D tools include the Dbx and Doc blocks and both 2D and 3D tools can be selected from a context menu, similar to how blocks are selected in other applications such as Inkscape and other drawing programs. Blocks can also be inserted directly from the viewer panel, similar to how blocks are inserted in Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.

Applications 
Autodesk offers a suite of professional applications for use with AutoCAD. There are application versions for the following platforms: Windows, Linux, macOS, and mobile (iOS, Android).
