The aim of this study was to present our results with the surgical treatment of the eustachian tube. From October 2001 to April 2005, 19 patients (15 women and 4 men) were operated for eustachian tube dysfunction. They had not responded to medical therapy. The medical records of the patients were reviewed. The patients underwent a single-staged endoscopic surgical technique for eustachian tube dysfunction. The mean follow-up period was 27.2 months (range, 12-36 months). The average preoperative air-bone gap was 18 dB (range, 10-25 dB). Postoperatively, the mean air-bone gap was 17 dB (range, 10-30 dB). Fifteen patients (79.5%) were improved, and 4 patients (21.5%) were unchanged. The endoscopic surgical technique was successful for eustachian tube dysfunction.
