Strategy 10: Cubing

Grade Levels: 6-8, English learners 
Students explore a topic from six dimensions or viewpoints when they do a cubing. “Cubing” comes from the fact that cubes have 6sides. Six dimensions: describe, compare, associate, analyze, apply, argue for or against. Cubes can be used in two ways: students can create cubes to review a topic they’ve been studying or they can create cubes as projects to demonstrate what they’ve learned during the thematic unit.
WHY? Students use higher level thinking processes as they create a cube and share their sophisticated thinking with classmates as they work together in small groups.
