AutoCAD provides a traditional type-based 2D drafting interface, as well as more advanced multi-layer, 3D modeling tools. A 2D drawing can be composed of objects, including text boxes, lines, arcs, and splines, while more complex drawings include blocks, text objects, and images. The top-down view provided by the earliest AutoCAD versions allowed drawing commands to be grouped into categories such as blocks, dimensions, drawing symbols, and text. When a block was added to a drawing, it was attached to the drawing canvas. The block could then be dragged to another location or rotated or even removed from the drawing. To draw a line, an arc, or a spline, the drawing commands were typed into a text box.
The object-oriented system introduced in the 1990s added new modeling tools that allowed for the creation of detailed multi-level surfaces, for instance, the creation of a multi-level desk surface. Located in Kenora, the mine and mill is being re-purposed to provide a community centre, wellness centre, an Indigenous Skills Training Centre, medical clinic and an armoury.
The community is beginning the process of establishing the community centre in advance of the Kenora Rivers Wabigoon Management Board (KWWMB) taking it over in November.
There will be a celebration open to the public on Saturday, July 7, from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm at the mine site.
"If you go in town on the 7th there will be lots of visitors, and they will be gathering in the park, all kinds of things are going to happen, but a lot of that will be focused on July 7," said Anita MacBride, the chair of the KWWMB, in an interview.
