To start off, my name is Laya and I was born near the peninsula in the Bay Area, and I would not have it any other way. Growing up in this region allowed me to form my personality and really create building blocks for who I am today. Sure, people may idolize this lifestyle and view it as such a perfect and "glamorous" vibe as stated above in the article written by Kranz, however these people are skipping the hardships that come along with being in this type of community. To illustrate, the unrealistically high payments of rent that offer nothing but a shack of an apartment, with minimal living space to raise a family. I know my family can definitely relate to that situation. Although, it is important to highlight the positive of your events and to not give the dark times a spotlight. If I had not grown up  in the California Bay Area region, I would not have adapted the business view on ideas that residents seem to have in Silicon Valley, in which have guided me to know what my true goals are in life.
