This is an Ad that New Balance created to persuade its audience and consumers that this particular shoe for women burns more calories and shapes legs better than any of its competitors' women's shoes. Their toning shoes are superior to regular walking shoes for strengthening leg muscles and burning calories. A woman walking briskly in a park smiles at a man, but instead of meeting her gaze he looks, brow furrowed, at her shoes, which are white and have the clunky, rounded soles that are typical of toning shoes. Then he sees another woman, this one in Truebalance sneakers. He smiles at her, and looking over her shoulder, she smiles back. “When toning your legs, glutes and core, the last thing you want people looking at is your feet,” says a voice-over. “Burn calories and activate muscles. The toning shoe that doesn’t look like one,” says a woman narrating.
