Today my review of the PlayStation 4 Skyrim Special Edition virtual reality will include the positives and negatives of the game overall, which features a new graphics engine and many new additions. I’ll be playing the game in a VR headset and review how well it runs and how natural the graphics, game-play, and other features are.
Immediately upon starting the game it’s clear that this version is very similar to the console version. If you own a PlayStation 4, you can still play Skyrim on it. Everything remains the same except some minor differences. The player will notice the smoother frame rate, but that will be a minor difference.
Laid out before you is Skyrim, it’s people, and the major locations in the game. Upon starting the game you’ll immediately notice the graphics engine is very new and different from the engine used on the PlayStation 3. It is a different type of engine, which is not seen often anymore; however, there are still very few games that use this engine. The smoothness and performance of the game is a disappointment at first, the game lags and feels sluggish when using the camera. It’s a new engine, so there’s a learning curve, but it gets very smooth after a while.
