The best thing to do in this kind of situations is try it for yourself and see for yourself. That is the best way to find out if you like it.
The "ultimate" version is totally different from "basic". It has some additional features but it is not an upgrade.
I have owned the "basic" version for some time now. But I am also on my 3rd hard drive now and need a small program to backup and index some of my files.
I have been using AMT since I was 11 years old when I was a teenager and I have always had problems with it but now I managed to get it running.
I will probably give the "ultimate" version a try, but I will not be an "upgrade" just because you said it.
I have used Windows Movie Maker, WinAce ZenMovie and a dozen of others programs, and will not be buying another movie editor program.
And "upgrade" means that it updates the program. It is not like a straight product upgrade.
If you want to help me and possibly others, that is the best way. I will let
