Wakelet highlights the power of curation. You’ve heard of the 4 C’s, right?

5. Curation is the 5th C
I am going to step out on a limb here and say that to genuinely be a 21st Century teacher/learner you must have curation skills. I began years ago Diigo and them mostly moved to Pinterest, just saving stuff, but before long I had nearly 15,000 resources in Pinterest that were sorta kinda organized.
Perhaps curation is the 5th C. In point of fact, curation is really just a combination of the other 4 C’s. It’s the idea of taking a bunch of different content, examining for value, and synthesizing it into a collection to clearly communicate a specific concept. Can’t say my Pinterest is really synthesized, but it did teach me the basics of curation. Wakelet enters the picture, and now I actually get it.
With such a vast amount of information and content at our fingertips it is extremely important to be able to filter out the excess “noise” and narrow the focus to just what is necessary.
