Origins
AutoCAD was developed by AutoDesk, a computer software company located in Massachusetts. Its first development was begun in the early 1970s, when one of its founders, Hugh Dubberly, began working on a computer-aided drafting program called Fiducia, which ran on the DEC PDP-10 minicomputer.
