Social Emotional Supports
NEW: Provide safe space for students that may be impacted by natural disasters.
Understand the different types of trauma that may have been experienced by the students, i.e., complex trauma or toxic stress.
 Refer to Key Practice 1 of  the 8 Key Practices when students arrive.
Acknowledge stressors newcomers and families may be facing.
Be aware of local community organizations and supports.
Support ML parents with acculturation.
Academic Supports
Review the initial PSP to see the Academic History of the student (contact ESL RT as needed).
Provide communication about school policies in the native language.
Support with learning school routines.
