Creating a Healthy Balance- Students and Their Cell Phones
For High School Students grades 9-12
I am interested in this topic because, although there are a lot of really good things happening in technology, it is easy to feel like it is taking control over our lives. I would like to find out how my students feel about their smart phone use and what they could do (or already do) to find the right balance. I am interested in this topic for myself as well. I have learned a lot about mindfulness and social emotional learning the past few years and it has been incredibly helpful to me personally and professionally. I hope to learn about ways to achieve a healthy balance with my cell phone so I can share this with my students. 
I think that setting up boundaries for oneself, in any area, can be incredibly empowering. I would like to find out what my high school students think about their own cell phone use, that of their friends and family, how it affects them, and what they think they could do to make it work best for them. I would like to find out what they think is good about their cell phone usage and what they think is detrimental. 
How can you use your cell phone and get the best out of it without feelling like it has control over you?
