Boredom Busters: Sunny Sidewalk Sensations
Experiencing summer slump and need something fun to do? Join Mr. Justin from the Arlington Heights Memorial Library and learn how to make two fun and easy projects: Ice Chalk and Puffy Sidewalk Paint! This program is made for kids between kindergarten and third grade, though children, tweens, teens, and adults of all ages will have fun! Here are the ingredients for each project if you'd like to create along with me. Ice Chalk: • Cheese grater • Sidewalk chalk • Measuring cup that pours • Measuring cups • 2 tablespoons cornstarch • 4 tablespoons water • Whisk or fork • Ice cube tray • Mini popsicle sticks (or regular-sized popsicle sticks broken in half) • Freezer Puffy Sidewalk Paint: • Large mixing bowl • Measuring cups • 1 cup flour • 1 cup water • 2 tablespoons dish soap • Whisk or fork • Cheese grater • Sidewalk chalk • Squeeze bottle • Funnel Have fun!
