With the release of AutoCAD 2016, the app supports dual monitors. The old version of AutoCAD had two choices, one using the host computer's graphical output and the other using a third-party graphics device. You could work on one monitor and the other would be there for reference. Now, there is the option to work on one monitor while AutoCAD runs on the other.

AutoCAD Key Commands
You can execute a number of AutoCAD commands from the command line interface (CLI). This section lists the main key commands that you can use from the CLI.
Main Menu Commands
These commands open the main menu, from which you can start a new drawing, open or close an existing drawing, save, load, exit or open the User Interface or Help system.
(note that these CLI commands are available in AutoCAD LT 2016 and are different than the main menu commands in AutoCAD LT 2017 and newer).
Command Name Purpose cnterm [AUTOCAD_PATTERN] [NUMBER] Change the size and font of the console window. It also sets the foreground color. This command can be used to change the default pattern of the console window. The window should be the default size of the main menu. Also, it changes the foreground color of the console window and hence of the active console.
The CnTerm pattern is a 7x7 grid of square cells. You can specify a number from 1 to 9 to change the size of the window. The font of the window is changed by using the font as a parameter.
To specify a pattern, enter cnterm, followed by the pattern, followed by [NUMBER], where number is the number you want to use for the window. The pattern can be either a 7x7 or a 5x5 grid.
In addition, cntermpat can be used to reset the foreground color to its default value.

AutoCAD is a registered trademark of Autodesk Inc. AutoCAD 2004–2013 can be used free of charge for personal use, and registration is required for commercial use. AutoCAD 2009–2015 requires a valid serial number. Once the current user of the software is registered, a temporary serial number is generated.
