Desert Exile

Author, Yoshiko Uchida writes about the upheaval and displacement that she and her family endured at the hands of the American government during World War II. This is a first-person narrative that is sure to engage students and encourage them to dig deeper into this event in American history that is rarely discussed. The information they learn through Ms. Uchida will help to supplement our lesson the internment of Japanese Americans.
