I am beginner at git, so this may be a very easy question for you.
I am working on a project where there are several developers. Whenever a new developer joins, he puts his own commits to the master branch.
Currently I am fetching his commits from the master branch when i want to push.
I want to change that, so that when i want to push, i push to his branch.
And if there are any commits on master, i want to create a new branch with those commits.
So how do i create a branch with the commits in master?

First you should create a new branch git checkout -b my-branch-name-for-him
Next, go to master and do a git rebase -i (interactive merge):
git rebase -i HEAD~10
By default, you'll see the whole history of master in this new commit.
Hit ctrl-i and it should ask you what to do:
pick: commit to my branch
squash: This is the default and combines several commits into one, which is closer to your master's history in one commit
edit: change to the latest commit and do whatever you want with it
Save and exit.
