Indigenous Fishing Rights

These resources are intended to highlight some of the major issues at play in the ongoing dispute over Indigenous fishing rights in Mi'kma'ki/Nova Scotia. This collection will centre on the most current flashpoint of this longstanding dispute: the Sipekne'katik moderate livelihood fishery. However, some resources will be used to place this current event in its' broader context. This resource was not created by a member of the Sipekne'katik community or any indigenous group. Some care has been made to include a diversity of resources and perspectives, but this collection will not be exhaustive.
