Week two reflection:
In this lecture, I find that micro-organism exists everywhere and occupied our body.Some are good, and some are bad to our health.It is impossible to perish all the microbes. Under this severe epidemic, we always keep our hands clean by washing hands frequently, but it is not easy to wash away all the microbes. 
Also, every drop of water are precious but dangerous in part of the countries in the world. Even though the water seems like muddy brown liquid, they still need rely on it to maintain their lives without choices. The bacteria in dirty water can cause different diseases that are life-threatening . I feel ashamed but also grateful that I just need to turn on the tap to access to clean and fresh water. We should cherish the water resource. I find an article about the Solar Water Disinfection(SODIS)by a professor from university to provide safe and healthy drinking water in developing countries. This method suggests sunlight and radiation can kill harmful containment in dirty water. However, it is difficult to find clean water in poor districts. By working with the another student, he discovered that table salt can remove mud from water, salt bind the clay particles and settle at the bottom of the water container. This is the effective and inexpensive strategy that can be used and taught to the people in developing countries. 
I am inspired to think about microbiome in our human body really indirectly or directly affect our health. Suffering from autoimmune diseases does not relate to NDA but family’a microbiome. I learn different factors affecting our gut microbiome, such as delivery mode, feeding, family members, living place, sibling effect and so on, that can decrease the risk of deceases. I know that I am vaginally delivered from my mother’s stomach, and I have one older brother. These provide me more beneficial bacteria and fundamental gut microbiome. I feel amazed that may be these are the reasons of why I seldom get sick in my life. 
Not only the microbiome in human bodies, but also in the Earth, Ocean and atmosphere has its function. For examples, the microbes in the soil is essential to support plant life, break down pollutants and cycle carbon and nitrogen. "Nanoplankton" in the ocean provides energy and chemicals to larger life forms, produces oxygen to Earth and recycles carbon dioxide. We cannot live without microbiome that is necessary in our planet.

Items
