Week 25 of first grade

Monday, March 8, 2021 - Friday, March 12, 2021 In ELA this week we will begin reading The Big Trip by Valeri Gorbachevr. We will practice reading, writing and spelling words with long vowels e made with the magic e and other spelling patterns like ea, and ee. We will practice putting ideas together when writing compound sentences. In Math with will continue Module 4 which talks about Place Value, Comparison, Addition and Subtraction to 40. We will continue to count by tens and some ones to figure out the value of a two-digit number. We will begin to compare the value of two-digit numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to. March is Women's History Month so we will learn about lots of important women throughout the month of March in Social Studies. This week we will study Michelle Obama, Sojourner Truth and Ruby Bridges. In Science we will continue learning about our Earth and the sky. We will learn how patterns in the sky cause changes in daylight and the seasons.
