Welcome Richmond families to the 2024-25 school year. We are so excited to have the students back with us and it was wonderful meeting so many new people today. I have had a wonderful summer enjoying family time outdoors while camping throughout Ontario. I hope everyone was able to enjoy their summer too.

Wakelet is a wonderful way that we will be able to share through photos some of the great happenings in our classrooms and school throughout the year. We hope you enjoy every month. We will also be sending out updates on a weekly basis through email. Please make sure we have the most up to date email for you and that you subscribe if you would like to receive the updates.

Here are some Richmond Street specific information items, but I am sure you will be receiving information from your child's teacher as well:
Our morning entry bell is 8:35 am and supervision on the yard begins at 8:20.
We will again be using Safe Arrival through School Messenger for attendance. Please see the pdf beside if you have questions.
Verification forms: please return the updated and signed form as soon as possible. This ensures we have accurate contact information in case of emergencies.
All students with a prevalent medical condition require a plan of care at the school. This allows all staff to be aware of needs and treatment plans for our students to help keep all kids safe. These forms are available on our website and through the office. Please take a moment to fill them out and have your child bring them to their homeroom teacher during the first week.
Permission to Participate in the Physical Education class and DSBN Information Technology agreement will be posted on School Cash online and not sent home in a paper copy unless you request one. 
Each homeroom class will have a spot for the students to line up at the beginning of the day and nutrition breaks prior to entering the school. Teachers will share this information with students on the first day.
Kiss and Ride: We will continue to have the Kiss & Ride in the side parking lot, and we remind parents that if they need to leave the vehicle for any reason (to walk to the drop-off location or unbuckle a seat belt etc.) we ask that you park in a designated spot. Please only drop off in the Kiss and Ride path not at the gate behind other vehicles. We want to make sure all students are safe while exiting the vehicles.
Please do not arrive early. Supervision on the yard begins at 8:20 and this is when the first students should be arriving.
School supplies: you are welcome to purchase school supplies for your child to use, but it is not necessary. The school will provide all necessary learning items. If you do choose to purchase, please remember to label the items. Students will require a pair of appropriate shoes for Physical Education class.
