1. A musicologist is an expert in music as a subject of scholarly research. They study the relationship between music and various other subjects including geography, aesthetics, politics, race theory, and more. some even work as professors and teach the history of music.
2. Approaches and methods that are used by ethnomusicology are employing a global perspective on music, understanding music as asocial practice, and engaging in ethnographic fieldwork. They are involved in their community by working at art presenting organizations promoting the appreciation and understanding of world music. 
3. Dr. Elizabeth Keathley is an associate professor of historical musicology and women and gender studies. she teaches the history of music and also holds seminars in musical cultures. 
4. Dr. Keathley earned grants and fellowships from the women and gender studies program at UNCG, she published articles and book chapters in the US and Europe she presented scholarly papers at many big meetings.
