Week 24 of first grade

Monday, March 1, 2021 - Friday, March 5, 2021 In ELA this week we will begin reading Let's Go to the Moon by Stephen R. Swinburne. We will practice reading, writing and spelling words with long vowels o and u made with the magic e. We will practice writing questions and identify the difference between a statement and a question. In Math with will begin Module 4 which talks about Place Value, Comparison, Addition and Subtraction to 40. We will learn about two digit numbers as some tens and some ones. We will practice skip counting by tens and then counting up the ones in two digit numbers. March is Women's History Month so we will learn about lots of important women throughout the month of March in Social Studies. This week we will study Mae Jemison, Bessie Coleman, Harriett Tubman. In Science we will begin a new unit of Earth Science. We will start to investigate our Earth and the sky.
